Shadowfever is going to be amazing! I know I'm not the only one who was probably like "Oh my god, AHHHH! WHAT HAPPENS NOW!" right after reading the last chapter in Dreamfever, so it's obvious I still can't get it out of my mind after reading in over a month ago. I re-read it a few times and still I can't get enough. I CANNOT wait for Shadowfever, even though I know I have to.
****SPOILERS****
I really would like to hear peoples thoughts on who it was she killed in the end?

*cracks knuckles*
Well. We've been having a discussion about this very topic on another board...and we've come to the conclusion that the beast is Barrons. Now, that being said, we ALSO feel that once Mac stepped into the Silver at the Lord Master's house (Darroc), Mac entered the Dreaming. So we feel that everything that was happening wasn't real. There were too many 'WTFs' when she stepped through. If you think about it, the title of the book HAS to come into play SOMEWHERE.
So, that's my take. I think the beast is Barrons within the Dreaming; but he's not really dead. :)
Ok, so that's the best I've heard yet. I actual thought something along those lines but didn't add the dream part, just the Jericho etc. I really think it could be that. I wonder why Jericho didn't admit to being there when she asked where he was for those days though? What would make him not tell her?
I also thought if it wasn't him it would be Christian because remember when she was with him in the mirrors and then disappeared, well he either got out or maybe the mirrors (if they are not a dream within a dream type thing) could be maybe another dimension type thing and maybe Christian was the beast in some weird way.
I don't know how to really explain how I thought it, but I tried. haha!
I really think the Dream thing is it though, it makes perfect sense! I just hope she wakes up and Barron's is still alive and sexy as always. ;) haha!
Wow that sounds like a really great theory!! it does make very good sense. I'm hoping thats it. Because if the Beast isn't Barrons then who the hell else could it be?? I can see it maybe being Christian, but the words she used at the end of the book were pretty strong:
"NO!" I screamed.
I'd thought I'd lost everything.
I hadn't.
I stared at the person who lay dead on the floor of the forest.
The person I'd helped kill. Now I'd lost everything.
And I just had a brainwave everyone else must have had but anyway, I was thinking maybe it could be Vlane.......?
Or even her Dad? Just throwing some ideas out there, because there wasn't that many people she cared that intensely about.....
Sounds about right eh Strange Candy.. lol. I get yuh!
Okay so I was just re-reading this book again.. and I found a a few paragraphs interesting.. you might have all noticed this, but I read this like 21 times and haven't until now...
It could still mean a past life before Mac(from Barron's thoughts) OR maybe this paragraph is something else. I'll explain at the end of the long page I'll write. hehe.. kk..
I stand in a desert. I am inside my lover's body, staring out from his eyes. I am mighty, I am vast, I am strong. We breathe stifingly hot night air. We are alone, so alone. A scorching wind gusts across the desert, kicking up a violent sandstorm, blinding us to all but a few ahead, driving thousands of tiny, needle like grains into our unprotected face, our eyes. But we make no move to shield ourselves. We welcome the pain. We become the pain, unresisting. We breath grains of sand. They burn our lungs.
Other flank us; still we are alone. What have we done? What have we become? Have they gotten to her? Does she know? Will she denounce us? Turn her face away?
She is our world. Our highest star, our brightest sun, and now we are dark as night. We are always dark, feared, above and beyond any law. But she loved us anyway. Will she love us now? We who have never known uncertainty or fear now know both in what is absurdly the moment of our greatest strength. We who have killed without conscience, taken without question, conquered without hesitation, now question it all. Undone by a single act. The mighty whose strike has never faltered--we stumble. We fall to our knees, throw back our head, and, as our lungs fill with sand, roar our outrage through cracked and burning lips to the heavens, those mocking, fucking heavens---
OKAY, So obviously I'm bored BUT, I have a theory.. it's probably not right, but I thought I'd say it anyway.
So those paragraphs were from when Mac went into Barron's mind on page 32 of the book, and he was pissed she seen it. I was thinking it's either his past life with the fairy princess right.. but I realllly think it's about Mac. The only reason I didn't is because he said she loved him, and she never said that yet in the book.. but what made me think it was.. this:
Other flank us; still we are alone. What have we done? What have we become? Have they gotten to her? Does she know? Will she denounce us? Turn her face away?
She is our world. Our highest star, our brightest sun, and now we are dark as night. We are always dark, feared, above and beyond any law.
That really sounds like he's in the desert in the Mirror's like Christian was in when he was really getting sick and dying. Christian DID say Barron's was with him at some point.. so it's possibility... \
BUT then he goes on about the love part, which confuses me.. I know Mac loves Barron's even if she doesn't know yet. But she never admitted it yet, so how would he know? Or is he just guessing?
I'm kind of just hoping it was meant for her, because it was really sweet. It's rare when you get to see behind the mystery of Jericho Barron's. He wouldn't give up that information easily. hehe!!
Okay, so sorry I rambled.. I just had to say it before I forgot. hehe:)
Wow, I'd never thought about it like that. And if the beast is Barrons, it would explain the double personality. He uses 'we' instead of 'me'. So it makes sense that the Beast is Barrons, or somehow maybe an extension or something of himself.
I'm not sure about the love thing though. Could love just mean sleeping together, but that doesn't seem strong enough. The love must be the feeling. So it is hard, but its great to speculate! lol
