Mosquitoes and Vampires...Hmmm
After listening to a rousing deconstruction of the vampire mythology (well, okay, after listening to a few vampire experts talk about Why People Like Guys That Bite), I settled down to work at the computer.
To my stunned amazement (I live in Vancouver, after all, land of the "What's a Mosquito?") a mozzie buzzed into the room and climbed onto my arm.
That was when it hit me.
Vampires are people with Mosquito Envy.
Who'd a thunk it?

I'm going to be in Winnipeg by tomorrow night (YAY!) and probably without email for the next three weeks (unless I find a little nook somewhere in the Old Folks Home). So I am sending early Chanukkah, Yule, Christmas, and Kwanzaa greetings to you all.

- That is wonderful. Not morbid at all--these are good things to think about. Actually, a woman I know used a quote from my book at her sister's memorial service last month. That brought tears to my eyes. And another woman told me she wanted to use a poem I wrote about a dear friend's death at her funeral. I can't think of anything you could say about my writing that would mean more to me than this.
