I miss Ca. weather but NC is pretty nice. I hate the humidity but love that I didn't wear a winter coat this past year! ;)

I love reading. I love Vampires, Shapechangers, Wizards, and any flavor of paranormal being. Sci-fi and horror are staples in my library and most of my books have a wicked twist. Mother's Day

I hope all the mom's out there had a great day! It was my first Mother's Day without my mom so it was a bit tough. Also tough because we drove from Indy to NC. 15 hours plus. In a car. Bad juju. The moon was awesome last night though. Huge, yellow and just above the horizon. It was amazing. Perfect moon for Vamps and Weres.

My Mom

After 7 long years with COPD my Mom finally gave up the fight. She has been fighting and in such pain for so long that seeing her suffer these past few weeks has been a struggle. I've seen people die and i've seen people fight dying but this has been a singular experience. Words can't describe how hard it's been to watch her go through this. We almost lost our son about 5 years ago thanks to a motorcycle crash. He was dead on the road and the ambulance people got him breathing again, but he has a brain injury that he will carry for the rest of his life. But, to his credit he has made a great recovery, got back to work, he's a chef, and has a wonderful girlfriend/partner who loves the bones of him, so he's a happy man now. Although he often says that without his parents he wouldn't have made it, he's so kind. I don't want to ever have to go through anything like that again, it's still with me, and will be forever I think.

Yes aren't they gorgeous! It was alwsays my dream to own a brother and sister pair of Russian Blues so my kids got them for me, they really do spoil me. Guess I must have done something right bringing them up eh?
