I've been asked to up the sex scenes in the Julia Poe Vampire Chronicles sequel. They, meaning my agent and publishers have asked me to write erotic short stories. So I did. You can read one of them on my other blog: http://celisrono.wordpress.com/
Sometimes (actually, a lot), I fear getting pigeonholed into being a paranormal r. writer. I'm not comfortable in a lot of ways about being seen by my friends as a vampire writer. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I actually loved…

Since I've written a vampire book, I feel the need to mention Richard Matheson's I am Legend. This book is quite significant historically. He was the first author to portray vampires as ugly, hideous, and feral. Before this, we have Bram Stoker's very sophisticated and erotic Count Dracula. Most writers have written about uber beautiful undead wearing tight leather and fluted pirate shirts that expose their chests, i.e. Lestat. There's nothing wrong with that, of course. But back to I am…

Very glad to be part of the Blood Bank. The experience reminds me of a vampire book I read in college that I still think about. It was called Anno Dracula. I don't think it's in print anymore and I've lost my copy a long time ago but the story is still in my head. It was set in Victorian England and vampire hunters abound. Anyway, I've loved vampire stories since I saw the movie, Salem's Lot, on television when I was a kid. Ever since then, I've graduated to Richard Matheson's I am Legend and…

since I've been able to hang out over here. I'm used the contact page on the B3 Main site to see what I need to do to set up a Virtual book launch so i hope to hear from someone really soon.
I've been super busy with deadlines from hell but that's okay. I need to keep busy to keep my mind off other things. If Bitten By Books agrees to host the Ravishing Raine book launch and contest I'm sure it will be a blast!
Well, it's 1:30 Am and I have a couple hours before I can get…

I'm a geek and probably a nerd. I get a kick out of Star Trek and being on the cutting edge of technology.
I've been seduced by Twitter and Facebook to my woe, and to many of the Twitter apps.
One of my favorite Twitter apps is Twitpic which I'm sure is short for "Twitter pictures".
I blog to get to know and be known by my friends and readers, so why not take it one step further? I read that popular stars like Vin Diesel and Shaq are masters of staying in touch…

One of my friends recommended that I read Patricia Briggs Mercy Thompson series, and I have to say I am an addict. Great series with a female character who doesnt always kick everyones butt, (even though she is not wimpy either) and great humor too. Went to my local library and got Moon Called, Blood Bound, and Iron Kissed so I could read the series all together, and I have to say the books got better and better as I went along.
Great Summer Reading!

I just read a post that asks the question, "does having a day job help or hurt writers?" The author had recently read another post asking the same thing so I'm jumping into the fray.
Like anything else, it depends.
It depends on what the day job is.
It depends on the writer's other commitments.
It depends on the writer's age and energy.
When I was younger and when my job was less stressful, I wrote all the time. I'd come home from the day…

Well, I just finished the first 3 of the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews. Loved them, can't wait until the next book comes out. Read the Halle Puma series from Dana Marie Bell from Samhain. They rocked. Finshed Demoness from Morgan Hawke and found time to read the True Mates series from Zena Wynn. To round out the week, I just started the Jaz Parks series from Jennifer Rardin. The title of the book is Once Bitten, Twice Shy. So, all in all a very productive week.
