Something about male characters who are honest with their intentions make me long they are real.
I just finished Thorn Queen, and Dorian.. god I love him.
Loved him from the moment he was introduce in Storm Born.
He is very reminiscent of Charlaine Harris's Eric - ambitious, honest with his intentions, but genuinely cares about the girl. Eric has always been my favorite of Harris's characters, mainly because the rest of them has hidden something big. At least…

SO... I am new to this wonderful site, and just learning to get the hang of it.
I just got to the 10,000 word mark on my first novel. I am excited about it and I am doing very well with it so far. I am loving every minute of writing, even if the re-reads and edits are a little tedious after I get done (so I have been told) I am still reveling in the joy of it.
It is supposed to rain for the next 6 days here in north Georgia, personally I am looking forward to the humidity…

To get to know my character better I decided to interview her... I love interviewing my characters especially when they tell you things that you didn't think of before. LOL It's very helpful if the story seems to have a mind of it's own, like the one I'm writing now. I thought it took place in AZ but the characters told me no, Mass. instead. And apparently the characters are younger then I thought too.
Well you can read my character…

About 3 years ago I came up with this plot and all these characters. A liniage of two witch families, one of the families was very heavily influenced by my own. (Write what you know after all. ;) ) I set the story aside for years, not writing anything of it for the simple fact that I was working on other things. I was focusing on my vampire stories instead. But I've been inspired for weeks now to start this story... the bad thing is I'm not done…

Ok, this is my semi-lucid rant about the evils of not backing up! I purchased a new computer and transfered my files to it. It was all good until I lost my back-up flash and had major trouble with my new laptop. After a lot of anxiety, panic, screaming and crying, I remembered that I backed up my files onto disc.
Now that should have been the end of it...but it wasn't! My problem, I didn't know if it was a recent back-up. I had three works of art at stake. One novel was complete and…

Note - Though this is not book-related it is important life-related.
Yesterday someone who knows me well shared something incredibly powerful and thought provoking with me. Something so fitting for him as well as me that I feel I have to share it with you too. Please, pass it on. It just might make difference in an age that could sorely use it.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our…
