Twilight The Movie

I absolutely loved the books, Twilight, all three of them so far. I read them in nothing flat. I still have to read the fourth book, but I've got so many other books to read right now, that it's low on my priority list. However, the other day, I finally got to see the movie Twilight! Boy was I disappointed!!!

It was disjointed to say the least, way to melodramatic, and cut most of the important parts of the book out! I can't really say too much, because I don't want to spoil it for… Continue

The Vampire Priest and his Nemesis in "Thirst"

Vampires have historically been considered evil, but fictionally they are currently not considered 100% bad. If you add a bit of trendy perversity, perhaps even martyrdom, to the mix you might get an instant hero, or the 20th century equivalent – the antihero.
Antiheroes are the…

I think it's funny...

When I'm awake I have trouble settling my mind on just sitting down and working on my novels. Yet when I'm asleep plots and characters and lines come to me with no problems and it's these dreams where I instinctivly know that these are my characters that I ALWAYS remember. I guess it's just that the stresses of everyday life that I have to deal with when I'm awake get in the way.

Since I'm a Buddhist I should really practice more… Continue

Moonlight Kisses

Hey everyone. This is a short story I wrote. Feel free to comment and let me know what you think! Thanks

Moonlight Kisses

I roll over to look outside my bedroom window. There’s not much light left in the sky, but in the distance over the woods, the dark blue of the rising night is still working on swallowing the pink, purple and orange that remains from the still setting sun. The stars are beginning to grace the darkness with their twinkling, glittery presence. I can feel… Continue

Horror Bound on Shadows

Horror Bound online Magazine was kind enough to review Shadows. Here's what they had to say about it:

“Shadows” by Joan De La Haye is a frightening story of two people’s seemingly unrelated descent into madness. This is a book that refuses to be put down.

Sarah is an average woman dealing with tragedy. She tries to deal with it on her own, but she seems to be going through a psychotic break. She has all the… Continue
