Penguin books hosts digital fiction

Here is something fun to break up the monotony of Monday...

Kind of like those 'pick your own adventure' stories from our youth. You can choose between 6 different genres and authors then you get to "help" write the stories. I picked the 'fairy tales' group and laughed my head off at the result. If you have a few minutes to spare, check it out.

Goals For The New Year

So I usually don't make goals for the new year as I never keep them, I mean who does? Resolutions I think were meant to be broken. :P But anyway! My goals are to get Center of Hell published and to finish completely revising Cosmic Journey.

Speaking of... I'm going to start the second rounds of edits on Center Of Hell and hopefully after the 1st start querying it! I'm super excited about this story! ^_^ I got such great feedback from the betas, I just hope agents will like it just as… Continue

Ah crap!

I'm currently reading Laurell K Hamilton's Anita Blake series. I'm about 200 pages into Obsidian Butterfly. I hate to say it but I'm not loving it. Don't get me wrong, I love Anita and seriously, who wouldn't want to be in a love triangle with Jean-Claude and Richard?! I'm just having trouble diving in to Anita's world and embracing it. It's been really bugging me but I think I've realized why... I'm stuck in another world!

Before I started reading the Anita Blake series, I had read… Continue

My introduction...

It's 7am and is going to be ridiculously hot here in Melbourne today. I don't know why I felt the need to write that but I guess it's because they are two things I dislike... Morning and hot weather haha! I live in Melbourne, Australia... famous for our unpredictable weather! Summer is here and of that I'm not happy. I prefer Winter. The only good thing about Summer is the fact I can ride horses on the beach! Which brings me to my other introduction... my babies! I own three horses... well… Continue

Finding the Right Vampire

I love vampires and wanted to have one in one of my books, but the only vampires I seem to see in fiction are the Dracula/European type vampires. I think Ann Rice traced her vampires back to ancient Egypt, which I thought was an intriguing idea. So I wanted to do something different and create a fictional vampire different from other vampire stories. Vampire lore has been around for centuries and every culture has a vampire-like creature so I had many to choose from.

After doing some… Continue

First part of Midnight Reflections

Here is the first part of Chapter One of Midnight Reflections.

Chapter One

Lyle Brooks liked jogging late at night when everyone else was home watching TV or getting ready for bed. It was so much quieter than during the day and he found it peaceful. Tonight, the only sound to break the silence was the rhythmic noise of his feet pounding on the stone path. The air seemed fresher, crisper in the darkness, and it always relaxed him. Even after the most stressful of days, jogging… Continue
